 | | National Mill Dog Rescue- National Mill Dog Rescue began. We have pledged to put an end to the cruelty and evil | | | of the commercial breeding industry. (Industry! Indeed.) There are many reputable breeders and shelters from which to get dogs.

Of particular interest will be rescue efforts carried out primarily in rural areas of great need. Providing a placement system whereby puppies that are not accepted by other organizations for whatever reason, can be placed into homes, rather than be destroyed.
|
 | | Table Mountain Animal Center- Founded in 1976 by an intergovernmental agreement, originally, the Jefferson | | | Animal Shelter served as the impound facility for unincorporated Jefferson County and the cities of Adoptions, Lakewood and Wheat Ridge. After years of success, the Jefferson Animal Shelter reevaluated its mission and goals in 1994 to accommodate growing demands on the facility and changes in the external environment. As part of the reevaluation, the shelter changed its name to Table Mountain Animal Center (TMAC). With the new name came expanded services, more efficient operations and greater public outreach, including the addition of the City of Golden as a member agency.

 | | Stop Puppy Mills- Puppy mills are nothing new. These mass dog-breeding operations have been around for | | | decades. They continue to thrive because they prey on unwitting consumers who are smitten by too-cute-for-words puppies in pet store windows and on fancy websites. But behind the friendly facade of the local pet shop, the pastoral scenes on a "breeder's" website, or the neighborhood newspaper ad, there often lies a puppy mill. These canine breeding facilities house dogs in shockingly poor conditions.
